Title:
Safety Awareness Week: Briefing 1 of 7
Body:
Members of Group III:
We have come along way in the way we train, the way we respond to our missions, and the way we interact with one another. As each of you know, I strive to incorprate the Air Force's core values into our plans and procedures and you may also recall my own addition to those core values:

Integity First
Service Before Self
Excellence in All We Do...
Safety Always.

To emphasize the importance that safety plays in our organization, which is encompassed in every facet of Civil Air Patrol, Florida Wing is recognizing the current week (15 Oct 06 through 21 Oct 06) as Safety Awareness Week. This is appropriate since October is Safety Awareness month. Each unit is required to dedicate its meeting to safety education and report it's compliance with safety awareness.

To comply with the Safety Awareness Week requirements and as a means to prevent complacency in the execution of each of our missions, Group III HQ will be publishing one safety briefing each day of the week. Each briefing will be from a different perspective of our staff to include command, cadet programs, drug demand reduction, aerospace education, operations, transportation, health services, and the like. These briefing are aimed for the general education of safety in each of these areas and all are encouraged to review these briefings. The first briefing (command) is attached and can also be reviewed at the Group III website.

Those members that are chartered to Group III HQ (SER-FL-032) MUST send an email to serfl032@earthlink.net advising they have received, read, understand, and complied (if applicable) each of the briefings. Again, only those individuals whose membership is with SER-FL-032 are required to send the email. All other member participation will be recorded as part of their home unit's compliance with Safety Awareness Week.

I hope that each of you take soemthing new out of these briefings and stand behind me to ensure our members, our assets, and ourselves remain safe in the services we provide.

Semper Vigilans!
